Echinacea Tea (to ward off illness)
Echinacea was used by the Native Americans for hundreds of years and by the early 1800’s it became a popular herbal remedy with those who had settled in the States and in Europe too.
To make the tea, warm a tea pot or jug with boiling water. Add one teaspoon of herb per cup (and one for the pot) to the tea pot or jug. Pour over approx. 300 ml per cup of water just off the boil and give it a good stir. Allow to infuse for 3 - 5 minutes. Gently pour into your cup leaving the herbs behind and enjoy. This is a tea to boost the immune system, and reduce the symptoms of colds, flu and infections. It is believed that taken regularly, Echinacea will guard against illnesses, ease urinary tract infections and help in the healing of muscle and joint pains. Sweeten with natural honey if required.
